Cognitive Philology

Cognitive Philology is the international continuation of the Italian Rivista di Filologia Cognitiva.

Cognitive Philology is a peer-reviewed, open-access journal that aims to foster communication between literary, textual, philological disciplines on the one hand and researches across the whole range of the cognitive, evolutionary, ecological and human sciences on the other.

This journal will focus on multidisciplinary research mainly in the area of Cognitive Philology, the science that studies written and oral texts, considering them as results of human mental processes.

This discipline, therefore, compares the results of textual science with those results of experimental research of both psychological field and artificial intelligence production systems.

Cognitive Philology, precisely, deals with transmission modalities of written and oral textes, and processes through which different knowledges are classified, availing itself, firstly, of the information theory; studies the narrative subject, especially regarding its selecting nature; examines the developing function of
rhythm and metre and the pertinence of the semantic association during processing the cognitive maps; finally, it provides the scientific ground for the realization of critical multimedial editions.

All content are in English. Cognitive Philology is available free of charge as an Open Access journal on the Internet.  Please click here to access.
