www.rarebooks.info is a unique online database that offers the largest bibliography of rare books in the world on the web. The database allows users to search nearly 70 bibliographies on a wide range of topics including literature, art, mathematics, theology, medicine, history, costumes, philosophy, architecture, and early printing.
To access, point your web browser to the Libraries Homepage at http://lib.hku.hk > Electronic Resources > E-resources on Trial.
Members of the University are encouraged to try out this database and forward their comments to Janny Lai, Electronic Resources Acquisitions Coordinator (jklai@hkucc.hku.hk), the Reference Department (hkulref@hkucc.hku.hk), or to their subject librarians libcd@hkucc.hku.hk). It is important to note that for the above database, the licensing agreements between HKU Libraries and the vendor require that users be HKU faculty, staff or students. — High Performance Design and the LEED Rating System — This course presents the LEED Rating System within the context of its role in professional practice and larger issues of human and environmental health; it teaches students effective use of LEED and the principles it encompasses.

A Brush with Irony: Paintings by Wan Qingli

This is an exhibition of paintings by the Chinese art historian and artist, Professor Wan Qingli of the Fine Arts Dept. The exhibition features 28 of his recent works in brush and ink, including a 15-panel piece entitled In the Middle of the Song No One is in Sight (2003).
Books and Their Stories Gems from the University of Hong Kong Libraries Collection

This exhibition is jointly presented by the Libraries and the University Museum and Art Gallery in celebration of the launching of the University Libraries' one millionth e-book. It will feature a number of valuable books from the rare book collection of the Libraries.
Animal Magic: Ancient Art from Jingzhou, Hubei Province

The Jingzhou Museum, Hubei province and the University Museum and Art Gallery are pleased to present an exhibition of excavated relics from the Jingzhou area of Hubei province, including Neolithic pottery sculptures and jades, and bronzes and lacquers of the Chu and Han cultures featuring the theme of humans and animals expressed in a harmonious relation.
