Visual report — infographic work on the International Criminal Tribunals

The Leitner Center for International Law and Justice has launched a new report, “International Criminal Tribunals: A Visual Overview”. For public interest law focus, this new 90-page report provides analysis and information through visual summaries in infographics to introduce the work of the international criminal courts and tribunals. The report also reviews the conflicts that led to the establishment of each court; their costs and funding; the crimes the courts are charging, the status of each case, and their conviction rates; sentencing; and reparations. Launch of the UN Depository Libraries - Global Outreach Map

To share ideas of outreach activities, promote interests in global UN issues and encourage the use of UN information resources, Dag Hammarskjöld Library has recently launched a Global Outreach Map. With this map, feedback about the kind of research works related to the collection of UN documents and publications, list of promotional activities and training workshops organized by the UN Depository Libraries will be published. UN Documentation Research Guide: updated and expanded

In honor of the 60^th anniversary of the appointment of Dag Hammarskjöld as Secretary-General, the library has recently launched a new UN Documentation Research Guide (http://research.un.org/en/docs) with expanded and updated information. Beginning in April 2013, the old guide will not be updated, with the exception of the current General Assembly and Security Council resolutions tables. New research guides include a guide to online UN information resources (http://research.un.org/en/un-resources). ProQuest Maintenance Window – March 10

United Nations Handbook 2012/13 - Now available as a FREE digital publication!

This year is the 50th edition of the United Nations Handbook which is published annually since 1961 by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade, New Zealand as a ready reference guide. This handbook provides current and useful information on all the UN family organisations, including their aims, evolutions, structures, memberships and an overview of activities.

The e-copy is free for download at http://www.mfat.govt.nz/UNHB2012/index.php with features including fully searchable text, an active contents page and index and the ability to leave bookmarks and notes.

ARTstor maintenance notice January 27th 2013

HKLII (Hong Kong Legal Information Institute, http://www.hklii.hk) is the first comprehensive portal providing free access to public legal information in Hong Kong.
